It says he's married to a Kiowa woman. I thought he and Janie Zah got married.....? What happened there? I suppose I could have gotten that wrong. :?:

Interesting. Well, good for him!

He and Janie divorced several years ago, I think.

Janie wrote to me after I posted on this. The Kiowa woman was his first wife. Janie declined to be interviewed so they left her out of the article. :?:

I heard the same but previously I'd heard they were cousins on the Arapaho or Apache side of the family. Just confused about the relationship though it's really none of my business.

Was surfing the net and came by for a visit and say Hoyo's post. Had to agree that it isn't anyone's business, but actually 80% of what interested me on the net is none of my business. ha, ha

LOL! Cousins! That's really funny. No we aren't related in any way. That will be good for a laugh when I tell him later.

And for enquiring minds, we divorced earlier this year. We are still good friends. It was his first wife who participated in the interview that Helen referenced. The writer had asked me to participate but during the second call I was kinda uncomfortable so declined.

A lot of what she talked about I was there. Think the most inspiring was the Rossport Five in Northern Ireland. Those families and community members who were willing to put their lives on the line to protect their way of life from Shell Oil's encroachment were full of courage and faith. The article failed to mention Dr. Ken York and the local Catholic priest who also was involved in the fund raising effort for the Mississippi Choctaw Hurricane relief fund.

Visiting Ireland, their history, their land, and the people left lasting impressions of commonalities in a magical place that was so different but yet the same.
